Step by step guide to set up OTP over SMS as a Two Factor method

OTP over SMS is the most reliable two-factor authentication method. It is based on two things, The first is mobile verification (to ensure that registration is not fake and to validate the real user's identity), the other is time-dependent authentication (OTP tokens are time-based security tokens). Let’s get started with OTP over SMS for Two-factor authentication.

Follow these Steps to setup OTP over SMS

• Click on the miniOrange 2-factor plugin visible in the menu to the left.

  

• You can see the list of Authentication methods here. Click on the Configure button beneath the the OTP Over SMS tile.

  

• Now first, enter your phone number and then click on the Verify button.

  

• Enter the One Time Password you have received on the registered mobile number, then click on the Validate OTP button.

  

• After this setup, OTP Over SMS gets prompted as a second security layer while logging into WordPress. For verification, you have to enter the received OTP token on your registered mobile number and click on validate button

  

• Now your account is secure and only after verification will you be able to login.
