Feature Description

The Restrict Access Based on IP Address feature allows store owners to control access to their store by identifying and filtering visitors based on their IP addresses. This is ideal for businesses needing to block or allow specific regions, limit access to certain users, or enforce stricter access controls for certain locations.

Merchants can apply IP address-based restrictions to various elements of their store, ensuring that only authorized users can interact with specific content.

Setup Instructions
  • Navigate to the Apps >> LockOn- Restrict Store application.

    Navigate to Shopify LockOn App

  • Click on the Create lock button.

    Click on Create Lock

  • Provide a name for your lock.

  • Choose which parts of your Shopify store you want to lock from the options provided.

  • In the Control Access section, select IP Address as the lock criteria. Choose the IP type (Single IP or Subnet IP) and enter the desired IP address in the provided field to allow or restrict access, ensuring that only users with the specified IP can view the store content. To add multiple IPs, click the Add IP button. Finally, select whether to Allow or Restrict access for visitors from the specified IP addresses.

  • Choose what happen when unauthorized user try to access locked content. You can either redirect them to login page, any store page, any URL or show them custom HTML code.

    Handle Unauthorized Access

  • You can apply the lock immediately or schedule it to activate at a specific time. Set a custom duration for the lock to automatically restrict or reopen access based on your store's needs.

  • This is useful for time-sensitive restrictions, such as limited-time sales, exclusive member access, or temporary maintenance.

  • Click on Save.
