Get Customer Access Token in URL

Feature Description

If you have multiple platforms (e.g., Shopify + another web app or a customer portal) and want to allows automatic login to other services without requiring additional authentication you need to enable the Customer Access Token option in our application. Passing the Customer Access Token in the URL allows Shopify to recognize the user without requiring another login.

Setup Instructions
  • Click on Settings.

  • Navigate to Apps and sales channels tab and click on Develop apps button.

  • Click on Create an app button.

  • Provide App name and choose the App developer. Click on Create.

  • Click on Configure Storefront API scope button.

  • Modify the customer details as shown in the below image and click on Save.

  • Click on the Install app button.

  • Copy the Storefront API access token value.

  • Go back and navigate to Apps >> miniOrange Single Sign On – SSO application.

  • Navigate to More Action >> Additional Settings option against the IDP you have configured.

  • Navigate to the User Token tab and enable the Customer Access Token feature. Paste the Storefront Access Token value that you have copied from above step.

  • Click on Save.
